"Eoghain Thomas O'Brien finds his precious after a Gold & Silver Polishing workshop  in Kilkenny Castle with the incredibly talented Stephen M Goldsmith"

The polishing of precious metal is most probably one of the most underrated skills in the craft but can make or break a piece that has taken hours to manufacture in minutes. The skill is very important in making your work look professional and is very rarely taught.

At last an opportunity with a 3 day course, to learn some of the secrets, techniques & improve your skills, with a polisher who probably is the only Jewellery & Silver polisher in the trade with 40 years experience.

The course includes some very traditional methods and also the use of machinery associated with the polishing of precious metals.

All these machines will be readily available to use.

The course is suitable for students with jewellery or Silversmithing skills but also those wishing to extend their knowledge from other disciplines such as designers or sculptors. You are encouraged to bring along some of your own work for discussion and use as examples. We will cover both theory and practical subjects which will be focused on the students here present in the class and we will be flexible.

Areas for demonstration and study may include:
